For over 10 years, I've been a writer and editor focusing on international health issues. Much of what I read is targeted to professionals in the field who are working on research, policy, and healthcare delivery issues.  Here, I wanted to bring together stories that show a more human snapshot of  what people may be dealing with in their own countries and cultures, and how these issues may be affecting health. 

I believe that "health" is holistically shaped by many variables - genes and heredity, environment, nutrition, physical and emotional well-being, spirituality and creativity -  as well as access to medicine and healthcare. So I look for stories around the web that reflect these influences:  the serious and the light, and the intriguing people, places and ideas from all parts of the world.
